How do you celebrate holidays?

Being together. Usually we play board games, card games and eat. Last holiday was Thanksgiving and we held “The Grateful Games”, a family game tournament.

We played:

• Connect 4
• Bean Bag Toss
• Darts
• Electronic Banking Game of Life
• Monopoly Jackpot
• Barbie Uno
• Game of Life Rivals Edition

A great time was had by all. We had a weighted points system which took in to account the amount of luck based on the amount of skill. The youngest player won the tournament. He was not so great at Darts and Bean Bag Toss but he’s incredible at Game of Life Rivals Edition and Connect 4.

What are your future travel plans?

I’m hoping to go on a cruise in late October and next March. I love road trips but I don’t have enough paid time off for all those “extra” travel days on the road.

As someone who doesn’t know how to swim, I never thought I would be someone who could enjoy a cruise but I was absolutely delighted with the cruise I took in March and I can’t wait to get out there again.

What do you listen to while you work?

I like to listen to Endel soundscapes when I remember to. I bought the lifetime subscription when it was on a Black Friday sale. I listen to Endel just about every night while falling asleep.

They have different soundscapes for relaxing, focusing, reading, winding down, commuting. I really enjoy this app.

Occasionally if the thing I am working on is repetitive and does not require much brain power, I will try to listen to an audiobook. But I almost always have to pause it earlier than intended because I either lose the thread of what’s going on in the book or the work I’m doing starts to require more from me. Honestly listening to an audiobook while working is a fantasy and I should not attempt it again. (Note to self.) I also get routinely interrupted by coworkers so it never works out for me.

What’s your go-to comfort food?

What’s my go-to comfort food? Macaroni & Cheese, like my grandmother used to make. With that lightly crusted top layer and the ooey gooey goodness below. Magnifique. ????
